A DIFFERENT KIND OF VENDOR AT THE PARADE OF HOMES

Oliver Brotzge Studios

I attended the 2010 Parade of Homes in New Albany yesterday. As always, there are vendors at the entryway. Usually the vendors are the usual insulation, siding and basement folks. This vendor, however, was intriguing. It was Oliver Brotzge Studios and he does carvings using styrofoam. This photo shows his self-portrait. You can email him a photo and he will carve, paint and seal it for permanence. He also does much larger and more elaborate work as well, such as a large coral reef. According to his brochure, he won quite a few awards while at Columbus College of Art & Design. He has a blog-style web site with color photos of his work, but be warned it was very slow to load when I visited.

P.S. While I would love to claim that being a self portrait, it’s actually my brother! :)

    Best regards,

    Oliver Brotzge
