COLUMBUS’ TWIN TOWERS HELP TRAFFIC REPORTERS

Copyrighted-Twin Towers

These two water towers are Columbus’ version of “twin towers”. You’ll frequently hear traffic reporters refer to them by that name when reporting accidents or traffic back-ups. “Traffic is backed up between Rt 23 and the twin towers.” They’re located on the north side I-270, between Sawmill Rd and Rt 315. Actually, they sit near Smokey Row Rd which runs underneath I-270.

I wrote a post about the various designs used for local water towers, and of course, referenced these two towers. Soon after, my ReesesPieces blog began being picked up by Google searches for “twin towers“. It quickly dawned on me that people searching for information on that term weren’t looking for Columbus water towers, but rather the catastrophe that occurred in New York city.
