Canoeing on the Scioto River, Dublin OH 43017

Yesterday I spent some time with my daughters sitting along the Scioto River at Scioto Park. This park is off of Riverside Dr, just south of Hard Rd. It’s the park where the Chief Leatherlips monument is located. There are a couple shelters for picnics plus a stage with seating built into the hillside. Just to the north of the stage is a camouflaged cell tower made to look like a tree. It’s a good place to walk along the shallow edges of the water.

There were quite a few geese (watch where you walk), plus, a blue heron that made a strange noise as it searched for food. We saw several people lazily going down stream in their kayaks or canoes. It was a great place to spend a warm summer afternoon. Apparently we weren’t the only ones to think that as there were a LOT of other people there as well.
