baled hay

You don’t have to travel too far outside of Dublin to see farm fields. These bales appeared to be freshly made. In the rural area where I grew up, farmers had hay balers that made rectangular bales that could be lifted by hand and loaded onto wagons. I tried that one afternoon when I was trying to impress a boyfriend at the time. My arms and legs were totally scratched and bleeding from hoisting the bales. These bales are so big they must be lifted by machinery.
